Theo Fleury

Theo FleuryThis is both a post about how great Theo was and also and indictment of every sports broadcaster who recently put their two cents in on the latest Hockey Hall of Fame class. I was watching, as most hockey fans do, the various TV sports panels debate the recent members of the HHOF. I was happy to see Doug Gilmour and Eddie Belfour go in, but then things got weird. For me at least. As is the case every year, people who cover hockey for a living will talk at length about who was up for the Hall but didn't get in. This year, the focus was really on two people. Eric Lindros and Pavel Bure. Most talked at length about how great these players were and how they should really have been inducted into the Hall of Fame. Not once did one of these clowns mention Theo. This is poor. Theo Fleury is a Hall of Famer. It's not even up for debate. He's certainly in before Eric Lindros and Pavel Bure. Over a point per game average. A Stanley Cup. An Olympic gold medal. World Junior Gold. 5 feet 6 inches of awesome. There will only ever be one Theo Fleury.
